Here in Michigan it is officially back to school time! Now is the time to get good study habits in place for a successful school year. Last weekend, on March 20, 2010, we presented a session at the Michigan Reading Association Annual Conference held in Detroit, Michigan. The session was called "Parents as Partners in Early Literacy Development" and in it we shared some ideas for the parent nights we have done in our district. This website was one of the resources we included in our presentation. It's hard to believe it's been just over a year since Family Fun Learning was first launched!

As parents, you are your child's first and most important teacher, and a valuable member of the educational team. Please watch your child's school newsletters for opportunities to become a more active member in your school community, perhaps as a member of the parent-teacher group, the school improvement committee, or other programs which come up from time to time.
I will continue to update this website with links to fun and interesting websites. If you have suggestions, please comment to this blog post, or click Comments in the column to the left and complete the form.

We were happy to host the families of our first and second grade Title I students. Families spent time exploring the links on the Family Fun Learning website, and learned about Frog Family Games. Each family got a new book, and check out a game to play at home.
